September 24th 2015. Kafue District Health Office

I head South today, to the little town of Kafue, which lies adjacent to the Kafue River, a very long river that snakes through Zambia, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the North to the Zimbabwe border in the South. The Kafue is the third largest tributary to the mighty Zambezi River and Kafue town sits just North of the banks of this delightful body of water.

I meet with David Chanda, who is the Clinical Care Officer for Kafue District. I show the David the new Virtual Doctors software in its App form loaded onto the Samsung Galaxy Tablets. He thinks they will go down very well with the Clinical Officers in his District and asks if we can consider putting the system into 7 Rural Health Centres throughout the District, including as far South as the Zambezi at Chiawa and to include Kafue District Hospital in the town. I plan to return in December with the live version, to carry out tests and hopefully install our Virtual Doctors service into all 7 sites!
