Many hands make light work

Whether you’re an individual, a student, a business or a school, you can help us treat more people in their community.  Even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference. So please, make a donation or put together a fundraiser.

Running a marathon? Doing a sponsored walk? Having a cake stall at your school? Every little bit helps. Or for even more adventure you could embark on a challenge on our behalf through Charity Challenge or Action Challenge.  Whatever you do, we would love to hear about it.  We don’t mind if you raise £10 or £10,000 – we’ll be grateful for every penny!

ULTRA SERIES – scenic walk, jog or run challenges in aid of virtual doctors

This summer, the Virtual Doctors are listed as a participating charity in Action Challenge’s Ultra Challenge Series link www.ultrachallenge.com with its five inspirational endurance events along coastal, urban and country routes with optional distances of 25km, 50km and for the ambitious amongst you, there is even an 100km route! Four of these challenges are still up for grabs… and to take a reduced entry cost charity place (with obligation to raise minimum sponsorship) all you need to do is select the Virtual Doctors in the drop down menu when entering.  There is still time to join as an individual, put a team together with your colleagues, from your office, your networks, your clubs, or friends and family.  Own place entry is also available (no minimum sponsorship) – if you are not sure what is best for you -  just call us before entering and we can give you advice on 01273 454755 or email us.  Please have a go…and start training today!  You will be helping us raise much-needed funds to help our work in Africa and we want you in our team whichever event or distance you choose!

Donate while you shop

Register with Give As You Live, download the app, and every time you shop, we’ll benefit from a small commission on your purchase.  It doesn’t cost you anything - it’s an automatic referral to us without you having to do anything. Now you can also Compare & Raise with Give As You Switch, their comparison sister website.

Donate your old car

Giveacar raises money for UK charities by scrapping and selling old cars. They provide a free, nationwide service which:

  • Arranges the collection of the vehicle from your home
  • Depending on its age and condition, recycles it at an authorised facility or sends it to auction

Scrap donations raise about £100 for the charity (depending on the price of metal); auctioned cars can raise much more.

To donate your car, simply visit www.giveacar.co.uk

Regular donations

Regular monthly donations allow us to make long-term commitments to isolated clinics whose communities desperately need easier access to medical expertise. Please consider a monthly donation or donate whatever you can afford today and we’ll send you regular updates of what your money is being used for.

Corporate partnerships

We are very keen to build relationships with corporate partners that have a strong CSR vision and a desire to support development in rural Africa, or groups of employees keen to combine their efforts with ours to save lives.

Fundraising Challenges

This is a great way for small or large teams of employees to raise vital funds for the Virtual Doctor service whilst promoting co-operation, team-building and, most importantly, fun!

Our two partners are market-leading challenge companies Charity Challenge and Action Challenge.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a way for employees to make regular payments to charity directly from their pay. Payments that employees make through a Payroll Giving Scheme are deducted from their pay before tax is removed. This means they get tax relief on the donation immediately – and at their highest rate of tax.

Find more details on Payroll Giving from HMRC.

Corporate Partners

Our corporate partners are a very special group who have generously donated funds, goods, services, time or expertise to the Virtual Doctors service. Without their help we couldn’t make such a difference to sick people in rural Africa – thank you!

Trusts and Foundations

Our pioneering work has been generously supported by a number of trusts and foundations. To them, and to those organisations who prefer to remain anonymous, we give heartfelt thanks.
